How to Play Midway Malarkey

Midway Malarkey is a hand-painted 1930s cartoon arena brawler where the carnival has gone gloriously wrong. Rascals pour out of every tent and your weapons — rolling pins, trumpets, tesla coils, falling anvils — fire on their own; your job is to dodge, position and survive. Grab tickets, spend them in the Prize Booth between waves and merge matching weapons into stronger ones. Auto-fire transforms the genre: combat becomes about footwork and target priority rather than aim. Kiting crowds in wide circles, slipping through gaps at the last second and steering the horde into your tesla coil's arcs is a ballet of near-misses. The weapon-merge system rewards specialization — three trumpets become a brass section of destruction — and collecting weapon families unlocks passive bonuses. Three modes — Endless Show, the 15-wave Grand Tour and daily rotating shows — plus six heroes and swing-era music make it endlessly replayable. Rubber-hose art style meets genuinely great arena design.

Controls

  • WASD / arrows: move
  • Weapons aim and fire automatically
  • Space: dash
  • Esc / P: pause

Tips

  • Keep moving in wide loops; stopping is how runs end
  • Merge weapons early — a level-3 beat is worth three level-1s
  • Save your dash exclusively for escaping encirclement
